We’re always pleased to offer new shows to our Broadway travelers. And this week we’ve added two that we think will be especially appealing.
End of the Rainbow
It’s December 1968 and Judy Garland is poised to make a triumphant comeback… again. In a London hotel room with her young new fiancé (Pelphrey) and trusted pianist (Cumpsty) at her side, Garland prepares to undertake a series of concerts at London’s famed Talk of the Town in an attempt to reclaim her crown as the greatest talent of her generation. This savagely funny drama shows Garland facing the challenge with her signature cocktail of talent, tenacity and razor-sharp wit, revealing the most brilliant star in her most demanding role: her life.
Death of a Salesman
This is the classic 1949 play by legendary playwright Arthur Miller. The original production ran for 745 performances, winning both the Tony Award and the Pulitzer Prize for drama. Now the show is being revived on the Broadway stage, starring Academy Award winning actor, Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Willy Loman (Hoffman) is an aging traveling salesman coming to terms with the emptiness of his life. He had great dreams for his oldest son, Biff, a former high school football star who has not lived up to his father’s expectations. He finds himself struggling with his sons and long-suffering wife Linda, as dreams of the past collide with those that might have been. This Arthur Miller creation explores the tragic, conflicted story of the love between husband and wife, and father and sons.
End Of The Rainbow begins previews March 19th at Broadway’s Belasco Theatre with opening night set for April 2nd. Death Of A Salesman began previews on February 13th with opening night set for March 15th at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Tickets for both are available now by visitingour website.
