Stiller and Falco Coming To Broadway

Here comes more star power to The Great White Way! Ben Stiller and Edie Falco are heading to Broadway in 2011 for a revival of John Guare’s The House of Blue Leaves. Word is that the production will make it’s home at the Walter Kerr Theatre sometime next Spring.

Set in Sunnyside, Queens in 1965, on the day Pope Paul VI visited New York City, the dark comedy features nuns, a political bombing, a GI headed for Vietnam, a zookeeper (Stiller) who dreams of making it big in Hollywood as a songwriter, and his wife Bananas (Falco), a schizophrenic destined for the mental institution that provides the play’s title.

Interestingly, this will be the second time around for Stiller in The House of Blue Leaves. In 1986 he made his Broadway debut in that year’s revival of the play, in the role of Ronnie Shaughnessy. This time around he’ll take the lead as Artie Shaughnessy.

You can be sure that when opening dates are announced for The House of Blue Leaves, we’ll have them for you here.
