Comings & Goings on Broadway

Westfield Century CityWaiting for Godot, starring Nathan Lane and John Goodman, has announced that it is extending its run at Studio 54 through July 12th. Waiting for Godot centers around two men waiting for someone (or something) named Godot, and having a raucous adventure in the process. Earlier this week, the production was nominated for three Tony awards, so Broadway audiences will no doubt appreciate the extra time to see this cryptic and comical play from Samuel Beckett.

The Broadway production of Moises Kaufman’s 33 Variations has announced that it will close at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre three days early on May 21st. Sources explain that the early exit is the result of a scheduling conflict on the calendar of star Jane Fonda. 33 Variations marked Fonda’s return to Broadway after a 47 year hiatus.

Neuwirth, who received her Tony nods owing to performances in Sweet Charity and Chicago, is also well known for her role on the hit TV series Cheers and Frasier where she portrayed Lilith Sternin-Crane. The groom is Chris Calkins, the man who founded Destino Vineyards in California’s Napa Valley.
