Prescriptives Good in Bed

Prescriptives has introduced a new product called Good in Bed skin restoring night moisturizer. The new cream was launched last month and is available for sale at beauty counters nationwide.

LYRA MAG reports that Prescriptives Good in Bed offers the following benefits to its users — reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles over time, it is non-acnegenic, it conditions and soothes skin with Shea Butter & Vitamin E and its grapefruit extract re-texturizes and brightens skin.

If you’re pressed for time, and like us, fall into bed having forgotten to apply night cream [tsk tsk] on more than 1 occasion, you can make up the damage done with GOOD IN BED. While the racy title caught our attention, you get more for your money than just a giggle. This night cream is emollient AND has self-tanner in it so that you’ll wake up with that “morning after” glow, and intensely moisturized skin. It’s 2 perks for the price of 1.

According to DCStyleMag.com, “Good in Bed promises a small (overnight) miracle by revamping the skin with moisture, while tanners work to darken your skin ever so slightly.”

Ingredients such as shea butter, glycerin and vitamin E work to soften the skin, while grapefruit extract diminishes the look of wrinkles. Wake up to a younger, tanner you by morning.

The retail price for Prescriptives Good in Bed is $65.00 U.S. / $90.00 Canada.

Hopefully everything will be sorted out for Klum in the future!

Real Looking Models

Models

Perceptions of beauty and whether society accepts them are constantly changing. Once being plump was considered a sign of beauty for models, then it was being slender. Now the criteria appears to be changing once again with the public reportedly eager to see more “normal” looking models who resemble people you might see in real life.

Dictionary.com defines a model “whose profession is posing for artists or photographers.” However, over the years, the definition has changed, or rather been extended, in its meaning. The word model is used with descriptive adjectives as slim, tall and gorgeous, but is it true nowadays?

Newsweek Magazine reports that “real-looking models” are now shining in fashion shows.

Now real people are even strutting the catwalk—the swimwear company Lycra plucked 20 women of all shapes and sizes off the beach to model their suits at last year’s Miami Swim Fashion Week.

It also quotes Simon Rogers, the head of Ugly New York, a casting agency for “real”-looking models, commenting on this new trend.

“I definitely think there’s some backlash amongst people who see fashion shows, then read stories about how the models have to smoke themselves to death and only drink lemon water for six weeks.People would like to see somebody up there who reflects how people on the street really look.”

An expert in the field, Amy Larocca, the editor of “Look Book,” explains the new trend.

“Fashion shows used to be for a very small number of people, very exclusive. Now you can see them an hour later on the Internet. Everyone can be involved. Larocca also links the increased accessibility of fashion to the number of high-end designers creating affordable lines for mass-market stores, such as Isaac Mizrahi’s collection for Target, as well as reality shows such as “Project Runway.”

Back in skinny jeans also states that people nowadays care about models’ health rather than their appearance.

If the woman still looks like she’s only had lemon water with cayenne pepper to eat for 6 weeks, then she’s still starving herself for fashion, and none of us want to see that any more. We don’t care about a model’s fashion look, we care about her health.

Beauty and the Geek

Reality TV Magazine reports that the two final teams hoping to get their hands on $250,000 in prize money passed last week’s semi-final of the reality show, Beauty and the Geek. The online magazine names them as Dave and Jasmine, and Nicole and Sam.

We opened with the Evening of the Final elimination and the two finalist couples dressed for what appeared would be the final elimination dynamics as explained by our host, Mike. Mike greeted the couples and remarked how no one gave Jasmine and Dave odds on being in the finals. Mike said that the pair had the biggest turn-around in Beauty and the Geek history as they won the final three challenges. Mike then turned to Sam and Nicole and said that certainly no one expected them to even be in the running, which had Nicole saying the they certainly showed them. Mike told them that the game was not headed to the elimination room tonight and that the game was changing once again.

The Beauty Blog wishes both pairs of contestants the best of luck! There’s an interview with the final contestants online on Zap2it.

Mix Up” Costs Miss California’s Crown

Christina Silva might have been first named Miss California by the Donald Trump Miss Universe Organization, but due to a mix-up, she didn’t have long to enjoy her new found fame as winner of the beauty competition. The Miami Poetry Review reports that she had to accept defeat when the name of the correct winner was announced a few days later.

A week ago Sunday, Christina Silva was crowned the new Miss California USA. On Thursday night the first runner-up, Brandi Williams, represented the title after the contestants were told that there had been a mix up. Christina Silva, 24, was delighted when she won the Miss California USA title last month.

To Silva’s dismay, her dreams of carrying the enviable title of most beautiful woman in California were shattered in an instant. Keith Lewis, the director of the contest, commented on this “scandal,” calling it a “simple human error.” Sky News reports that while Silva will be allowed to keep her crown, sash and necklace, Silva is now considering legal action.

His new show will show people what drug abuse really is so that people can understand how to identify if they’re not getting good treatment, and for those contemplating treatment, it might encourage them.

Pinsky comments on the content of the show in more details. Pinsky says that it isn’t just those who are already famous who are at risk from becoming drug abusers.

I’ve done the only scientific research done on that topic, and we were able to show that people with pathology desire to be celebrity. People come to their celebrity status already with the pathology. I think you see that the issues that are very commonly underlying most celebrity personality structures on this show: the trauma, the addiction, the abandonment, the abuse. All of that is an exceedingly common history in people that strive to be celebrities.

Expecting that the show will create some controversy, Pinsky has this to say.

Anyone who has been hired to be negative, we’ve shown them the shows and they’ve had a 180 degree turnaround. It is treatment. It is the human experience. It doesn’t pull any punches.

Beauty Pageant Workers Face Arrest in Miss Puerto Rico Scandal

GMANews.TV reports that police in Puerto Rico expect the imminent arrest of two beauty pageant employees after an investigation into a plot to sabotage a Puerto Rican contestant by covering her clothes in pepper spray.

The pageant’s security director and a catwalk coordinator, alleged backers of a rival to beauty queen Ingrid Marie Rivera, will likely be charged with assault in coming days after detectives consult with prosecutors, police spokesman Lt. Eddie Hernandez said Tuesday.

The scandal broke when Rivera claimed that saboteurs conspired to torpedo her pageant bid at November’s Miss Puerto Rico Universe competition by tainting her clothes and makeup kit with pepper spray, causing her to break out in hives.
