The German brand, Puma is known around the globe for its athletic shoes, footwear, and other sportswear item that it produces. Originated in the year, 1924 under the name Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik by brothersAdolf (who later Founder Adidas) and Rudolf Dassler(Founded Puma), the two decided to split in 1948 after a dispute. Rudolf Dassler, then started his own company and registered it under the name Ruda, but later on changed the name to Puma.


Puma today enjoys its reputation as a multinational company and is famous for its football shoes. The company has sponsored acclaimed footballers, including Pelé, Eusébio, Johan Cruijff, Enzo Francescoli, Diego Maradona, Lothar Matthäus, Kenny Dalglish, Didier Deschamps, Robert Pires, Radamel Falcao, Sergio Agüero,Marco Reus, and Gianluigi Buffon.

Other achievements include sponsoring of the Jamaican track athlete Usain Bolt and introduction of suede basketball which it introduced in U.S. in 1968.


Apart from shoes, company also offers a line of sports clothing designed by Lamine Kouyate, Amy Garbers, and others. Over the years, the popularity of the brand has grown so much that the company today distributes its products to almost 120 countries.
